So wanna buy your own Gunyah

I know buying your very first home can be a real bugger, so I went out and did some of the hard work for ya and found some of the cheapest houses in Australia. Now these were all on the market as of the 20/2/2009, but at these walkaway prices don't be surprised if there sold so ya better get a wiggle on!

The first house on my list for sale is this beaut 3 bedroom stone home in the sleepy township of South Australia..... sorry sleepy township of YONGALA. Which everyone knows is just a hop-skip and jump from the steamtrain township of Peterborough, and also it's just 34km's from Jamestown. It sits on 1.5 acres (0.6 ha) and has numerous sheds, mains water and is a well fenced block.
This magnificent old farmhouse is on the edge of town for only $45,000, and really it's worth having a squizz at just to look at the chook pen! Okay there is draw backs like you have to become a croweater and becoming a Port Power supporter, but it's only a thirty minute drive to the sandy shores of Mambray Creek for a swim!

2nd on the list of must haves is a two bedroom shady house in the township of QUAMBONE in the outback of NSW, ever heard of the saying 'Out back of Bourke' well this is in 'front of Bourke'! So you could buy this place just to say to everyone 'hay I live out front of Bourke'. Okay silly reason to buy a house, but I am trying to sell this shitty house to you so give me a break.

But this place might be a bit of a worry because the agent talked this place up by pointing out it's best feature as, 'it has 3 Phase power onto the property with Power Points and Lights'. So if that's it's best feature then you better just look at it's beaut price $30,000 you little beauty hay!

Next we head to a place called SEA LAKE, which if you think it's near the sea you would be very wrong. It's just down the road from Swan Hill in Smokey old Victoria, and is in fact about 300km's to the Sea. This two bedroom one bathroom very old concrete brick home, has unlimited options as the agent says and is near the town ,golf club and bowling green. So a walk from the local Pub, or coming home after taking the misses out for a splash up night out at the bowling club bistro.
(You'd be surprised how the misses will come around after a beaut meat n' three veg feed). And it's just a nice old stroll back to the homestead come to think of it, the place might look a bit better after a skin full! But the most appealing aspect of this place is the fact it is going for the huge price of $25,000 Strewth! When you think of it, if you have the first home buyers grant then you can put this house on Bankcard!!

Next for a change of pace how about owning your very own church, that's right your very own x-Lutheran Church. It lies just down the road from Wagga Wagga in the sleepy fields of Henty in NSW, yes this 1950 Cement Brick Construction Church is up for sale and has a very good timber floor and rendered Walls. It also comes with two acres of scrub timber, and the possibility of getting into the good books with the bloke upstairs! it is going for the right price of $47,000.

But getting back to the ch
eaper side of things we now go for a drive closer to the oldies place, with this beaut little old shop in WINGHAM NSW which is only 12kms from Taree. This place is known as 'The Old Corner Shoppe' just like the one when you were a little kiddie, Offering many plant and shop inclusions, including a side loading dock for the new owners to walk straight into this leasehold business and 3 bedroom adjoining residence without too much trouble at all cool. Fairdinkum if yours truly was over that side, I'd have at least have a gander at it mate. The going coast of this place comes in at a handy $28,000, that's right not bad for a home and a business hay.

But my final little buy in the outback NSW is this place on 11 Wade Street CARRATHOOL, this little ripper township is only 56kms from Hay. This large country home has character & charm. With 4 large bedrooms, 1 with ensuit & WIR, bathroom, huge kitchen, lounge and second living area. An open fire place and evaporative cooling this home is partly furnished, and set on a large 2000m2 corner allotment in the heart of Carrathool. Just imagine what this place would look like with a good paint job, an eski on the varenda and the odd nail hammed in. This beaut old bush home is on the market for $35,000! Strewth hay not a bad price, now lets be fairdinkum hear if ya had a loan over 25 years at 5.75% you would pay the bank $51 each week!
Okay you might have to put up with living in a shithole country town, but when you add all the fores and against-est it's really not a bad idea hay. Any of these homes you could pull a beer out of the back fridge, and sit down with the feet on the esky out on your back varenda. If it's a bit hot say 39 in the shade you can leave your window open, and all that will bite you are some hungry mozzies. Fairdinkum life couldn't be any better hay.
