Bathurst 1000 you little beauty!

Well it's that time of the year where you pack the fridge with beer, shove some packets of smith chips under the lounge (that's optional depands if ya have kiddies or not). turn the tv to channel TEN and see if you can talk the misses into going up to see her oldies, offcause taken some kiddies with her would be nice..... maybe ..... say five of them! But unforturnly for yours turly the misses was going to be working all day so that option was gone, but you must always look on the bright side of things... and this bright side was that I had the TV all to myself!!!

Yes it's Bathurst time again and you couldn't ask for a better reason to just sit back and drink all day, now if you live on the other side of the planet and don't know about the worlds greatest race then i'll fill you in on a few things. Known as 'THE GREAT RACE' held every year at the greatest race track in the world MT Panorama, and is also the only race track that goes up a friggin' mountain then back down again (the drop from top to bottom being 174 meters). It's been won 9 times by the fella known as King of the mountain Peter Brook, it's held over 1000 kilometers crikey and over the years has created a beaut rivalry between the greatest team HOLDEN and that rough mob FORD. Holden has won the most races with 25 race wins with Ford taking the trophy 14 times.

Now who's racing this year in 'The great race' well we have the Jim Beam cars driven by Steve Johnson/David Besnard. The second car is driven by Allan Moffat's little kiddie James Moffat.

Strewth! now this sheilah supports one of the Vodafone cars... which one ? ..... who cares! oh that's right Jamie Whincup and Andrew Thompson.

This is the TOLL HOLDEN RACING car driven by West Australian Garth Tander and co driven by 22 year old Nick Percat, this is the one your's truly is going for to win the Great race.

Then we come to the Paul Dumbrell driven 'The Bottelo' car ..... mmmm nice door.

While were talking about the 'Bottle'o' car here's the Bottle'o sheilahs showing us some nice tyres, and ofcause remember always buy good rubbers!

As for these good sorts.... well i'm not sure who L&H are but who really cares!

It wouldn't really be a race without the 'Stratco racing' car, well come on someone has to come last don't they.

Then we come to the SP TOOLS car driven by Shane theblokewiththebigchockoname Gisbergen and John McIntyre, and don't they make a perfect couple!

Last years winner Mark Skaife n' Craig Lowndes driving the great Team Vodafone car, two of the greatest drivers over the history of the race.

Oh here's a better photo of the SP TOOLS car which should come somewhere at the back of the pack, but if were talking of there support sheilahs then I think they could come up winners.

And what a ripper paintjob on this 'Bundaberg racing' driven by Fabian Coulthard and his mmmm sorry lost my concentration there, co driven my his mmmm co-driver! crikey don't we all love a bundi sheilah.

And finally we come to the Mother racing team driven by Jonathon Webb mmmm now there's a trifector worth winning!

Also comes the also runs Jack Deniels racing driven by the legendary Kelly brothers Rick n' Owen, who always seem to be there at the end but just not good enought to cross the line first.

And finally we come to the Pepsi MAX crew car which is being driven by my old favoutite Greg Murphy, it would be nice to see the old fella win again as he has won it 4 times. Now there is a fair few other cars in the race like Orrcon Steel racing, Irwin Racing, the Trading Post FPR Falcon and the list keeps going on. But unfortunly we can't pop them all into this post and unforunly for them they don't have photos of their car and a sheilah next to them, so they just don't make it into this post.... we'll lets be fairdinkum wasn't the last car pretty borning to look at! But anyway it should be a ripper day sitting in the lounge with the telly going, a nice cold beer in the hand and the kiddies just out off hearing range. And don't forget the chips under the lounge.... can life get any better then this!
