Feral Brewing Company

I love to promote a true blue aussie product and you can't get anything more aussie then a Pub, and in this case it's a bloody ripper Brewery in the bush outside Perth. The Feral Brewing Company has been making beer now since 2002 and isn't it a bloody beaut beer if I may say so myself, but you don't have to take my word for it as they have won heaps of awards a total of 12 from 5 years at the Australian International Beer Awards. Last year alone they won 'The best Porter award' with their stout named 'Boris', also with production over 5 million litres per year theirs a fair few others who like the drop.














The Feral brewery's beer list includes styles from all corners of the world including Belgium white Ales, Pilsners, American IPAs, and sours beers! crikey sour beer doesn't sound to nice but the people in the know reckon it's spot on. 









One of the Feral's top drops is a FERAL WHITE which comes in at a normal 4.6%, it's made to a true Belgium style with half wheat and half burley sturred in with a Belgium yeast.

  The WHITE is about as cloudy as a wet katoomba satdy arvo, and has a finish which is about as spicy as a Gold Coast pole-dancer.
















 There biggest seller is the HOP HOG which is a beaut 5.8% and is without doubt Feral's best selling beer, and for the astute drinker it's an Arnold schwarzenegger style Indian Pale Ale. They add a heavy hit of American hops during the boil, and late at the fermenting stage which gives the HOP a strong pine needle aroma. Now the image of ya wrapping your laughing gear around a friggin' piece of tree drop-off, might not appeal to some but fairdinkum it's actually quiet nice... better then eating bloody bark! And the taste is finished off with an aggressive ending which is  about as dry as a dead dingos donger.






















 At the brewery you can either sit inside having a gander at the bar space and the nick nacks on the walls, or you can take the misses out back with a drink over looking the Lamonts vineyard. Also there is a real nice veranda as you can see where you can get right into ya tucker, some nights they have a nice band playing in the corner which always helps the beers go down quicker.












 Another beer from Feral is RUST which is another strong Boris Yeltsin style Belgian 6% Abbey ale beer, and is on tap at the brewery so you can wrap ya lips around a glass of the rusty stuff.

It has a dark cooper / reddish Noosa Heads surfer girl body, with Queenslander Banana yeast notes (what do these fellas put in these bloody beers). At a strong six percent it settles nicely in the beer-gut, and surprising goes down quicker then a twenty buck hooker.














If ya gonna try something new then I reckon ya should give the taster a try, fairdinkum if ya haven't got a smile on ya dial after sinking six small glasses of brew then I suppose a naked poster of Elle Macpherson isn't gonna do much either.... crikey.









Now if your one of the older folk who drank beer back when they made ridge-didge stuff, then you would love to taste a beer named Feral's RUSSIAN IMPERIAL STOUT. Fairdinkum this stuff comes in a mouth numbing 11.5%!!!

This beer is darker then a friggin' South African and can drop ya quicker then a round with Mike Tyson, which is easy to do as it has a very smooth taste with hints of chocolate on the palate... ever drank a snickers bar before! And the best bit about having a 'BORIS', is that it feels just like having a Port and nobody can beat having a Port at the end of a hard working day.... Good on ya Boris.









Now after sinking a few Borises or Hoppers then ya gonna need something in the guts, and the Feral is without doubt one of the best Restaurants in the Swan Valley.


As you can see you can either impress ya sheilah with some real 5 star grouse tucker, or sit out the back over looking the vineyard sinking ya teeth into a beaut burger with chips.



 So if ya want a top-notch night out to impress the misses or trying to get the leg over with the girlfriend, The Feral Brewery is without doubt one of Notsoskinnys real beaut night outs. It get's the double thumb's up because not only is it one of the best places to sink some of the Swan Valleys most mouth watering brews, but also has some of the best barmaids that you can lay the old eyes on... life doesn't get much better then this.

 When it comes to the Woman's World Surfing Championships Australia is well represented, with a total of six beaut sheilahs carrying the Aussie flag. So yours truly thought it was time we had a gander at some of these sheilahs, starting with who I reckon is the best one of them the legendary Sally.

Sally Fitzgibbons is without doubt one of our best chances of taking the World Championship Trophy back to our island, with coming second for three years and third last year means she's just one step away from that chalest moment. 

 

 This 24 year old surfie grew up in the little New South Wales coastal town of Gerroa, but her best victory has been on the Torquay sands of Bells Beach which she has been lucky enough to ring that bell twice so far during her short career.

 

 

 Hear in Australia were all hoping this is the year that she takes away the silver wear, and so far this year she has started well after winning the RIO WOMENS PRO in the 'Barra Da Tijuca' in beautiful downtown Rio de Janeiro , Brazil.

She has a bunch of ripper sponsors with mobs like Roxy, Garnier, and the superb Surfboards Firewire and she is on the team RED BULL!

 This beaut young aussie was a champion as she was growing up as she became the ASP World Junior Champion 2007, then followed it up with becoming the ISA World Champion 2008.

 She has done a bit of modeling and I'd say she'd be doing heaps more after she hangs up the togs, and in this case she has already started hanging up some!

 But Sally's a beaut ambassador for not just surfing in general but also for Australia, a young bright sheilah with the world at her sea-salted feet.

Well it's been two years since yours truly has up-dated my 'Most beaut looking sporty sheilah's list', so I had to look for another ten sheilahs that would make the grade. Well as they say 'It's a dirty job but someone has to do it', and with that attitude I hit the old Google and checked out as many webpages that I could.

 Now I don't just grab any good looking sheilah to pop on the list, she has to ... as they say 'tick all the boxes'. So after weeks of hard Yarka I've come up with what I reckon is my best list to-date, of-cause there's a few Aussies in it but I reckon there earned they spots. And with that here's my first good looking sort to start the ball rolling...

 In No10 spot comes Maria Kirilenko who is another one of those beaut looking sheilahs who came out of Russia, how that country keeps producing such gorgeous raw tennis talent is beyond me mate. But each year there just seems to be some new Russian sheilahs that just keep winning tournaments, of-cause Maria isn't new to Tennis as she began winning matches way back in 2001.

 

  Unfortunately the poor little sod hasn't won a Major yet but has taken 12 (WTA) Titles, and I shouldn't use the word 'poor' as shes pocked more then 6 and a half Million in Prize money (and counting)... Crikey!

But that's only prize money she's earned during her career which is only a fraction of what a tennis player can earn in endorsements, and it's really mind blowing as to how much these sheilahs can earn during a year. As Maria was the highest-paid tennis player in the world this year (2013), as reported in 'People With Money' that states Ms Kirilenko earned an astonishing $58 million between October 2012 and October 2013... Stone the crows!

And her net worth has now moved to a whopping $185 million.... crikey not bad for a sheilah who hasn't even won a Major Tournament.
But she still has some time as shes only reached the old age of 26, which is old in women's Tennis but if she can pull in that sort of moolah without winning a Major I think she can go on for a few more years yet.

In the ripper 9 spot comes Dominican fitness sculpturer Vanessa Tib, who now lives in New York and trains pretty well every day.

Now some 'Thick skin' people might say that 'Body Sculpturing' isn't really a sport, but just between you and me.... 'who really cares'. This sheilah puts in just as much work at the gym as any of the sports ladies, so why not call her a sportswomen.

As for this little Dominican horn bag she's just reached the magical age of 33, and doesn't she really take care of herself... she looks better then most girls half her age. At only 5 foot 2 this little pocket rocket is a full time Registered Nurse, so she has to fit work and Gym together in a day to keep her active. 'I stay away from junk food, sweets, and  I don’t believe in bulking as I stay lean year-round. I find that a lot of people use that “bulking” excuse to eat crappy foods and therefore get fat'. Well you can't hold that against us, fairdinkum.

In the spunky spot of 8 is Texas Kickboxing sheilah Gina Carano, who not only is a good sort but can really look after herself.

 Shes a professional Kick boxer who won 12 Pro MMA fights out of 14 matches. In her last match a sheilah with a head on her like a half-sucked-mango Cristiane Santos, kicked her freckle pretty badly, Cristiane was all over Gina like spots on a grandma and gave her a shellacking in the first round. Since then she has hung up her boxing undies, and hasn't been seen since in a boxing cage.

But that could be because theirs more money in modeling sport stuff, and flashing her beaut bod on TV and movies. She's now appeared in 'Red Alert 3', spy thriller movie 'Haywire', and was cast in the action movie 'In the Blood'. But her biggest claim to fame so far has been in this years (2013) 'Fast and Furious 6', where she was Special Agent Av.

Rolling into the number 7 slot is 33 year old American Golf hottie Blair O'Neil, and isn't she a little ripper. At the age of 11 she started her golfing career and turned Pro in 2004.

 Those Chinese fellas might say 2011 was the year of the Rabbit, but it was another little Bunny that really took out the year. With some great wins around the world, but most impotently won the MVP at the Big Break at Dominican Republic.

  Cobra-Puma golf has put their faith behind Ms O'Neal, and she has no intentions of letting them down. In Golfing stats she had a Average drive of 274 yards, using her favorite driver the Cobra ZL Driver.

She was asked If you had one last round of golf to play, who would make up your foursome? 'My Dad, my Grandpa and Ben Hogan'. A very different type of foursome that shot through my mind, but still a very good lineup indeed.

Coming in next is our first of two surfers the 'Masterpiece in a bikini' Californian Anastasia Ashley, and at the young age of 26 she is without doubt the most sexiest Vegetarian alive!

 'I found an abandoned surfboard outside of our house, very beat up and super ugly. Boards are normally white, but this one was yellow from being in the sun and old'. That dingy board helped then 6-year-old Shark biscuit Ashley sign up for her first surf contest, which she won confirming that surfing was the way for her to go.

   Winning contests quickly reinforced Anastasia as one of the most visible faces in the sport, as well as one of its most coveted athletes, landing sponsorships with Oakley, Infinity Surfboards, and PowerBar.

 

 These days Ashley is less concerned with participating in every competition on the tour, and more enthralled with mastering her favorite local waves in Hawaii and California.

No5 is a 24 year old Hungarian swimmer Zsuzsanna Jakabos, who has competed in '04, '08 and 2012  Olympics. 

Zsuzsanna is known as a workaholic when it comes to her swimming, and has always tried out for as many races during a meet that she can fit in. In the 2012 Olympics she was entered in fore races, which unfortunately she didn't get a medal but at least she was good enough to get their.

She still lives in Hungry and contests as much as she can, she was asked it she ever left her home town where would she head to? She answered 'Anywhere but there has to be a sandy beach, and all year warm weather'. So you never know we might see her heading down under one day.

An Aussie Sheilah holds the next spot and doesn't she keep herself busy, it's Ellyse Perry and not only does she represent Australia in cricket but also in soccer.

This Aussie 23 year old has played for Australia in cricket, she was in the team that won the 2013 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in Mumbai, India. Ellyse is renowned as a all-rounder, but is used as an opening 'Right-arm Fast medium' bowler during most matches.

Born in Wahroonga which is a town in the old steak n' Kidney (Sydney), she excelled in all sports but loved both cricket and soccer. Both sports are keen to retain Perry in their sport, she has accepted in interviews that she will probably one day have to choose between them, but for the moment she is pursuing both.

This Adelaide sheilah Stacey McMahon is our next girly on the list, she's a real boys boy who loves nothing better then riding her Yamaha around the track. Shes also a fitness Instructor, Personal trainer and sports model. And now she has moved away from the front of the camera, and has become the owner of 'White Tiger modelling agency' and appears in her own line of racing-themed bikini calendars.

This 32 year old tomboy developed a passion for Motorsport, when she was offered the opportunity to race a GP Bike in 2007 for ‘Team GMC’ (Main sponsor of the Australian MotoGP 2006/07) Stacey jumped at the challenge! Her favourite race track is Australia's Legendary 'Phillip Island', when she was asked what is your favorite exercise she asnwered 'Motorbike racing' – 'You’re constantly using your whole body to move around on the bike. All stabilizing muscles get a workout. It’s physically & MENTALLY challenging. You have to be focused 100% at all times! The adrenalin rush is unbeatable! It gets my heart rate up and keeps me lean and toned'.

Favourite motivational quote? 'Good things come to those who WORK' and 'A workout makes you better today than you were yesterday'. And what are your goals in the next few years? 'Well after 3 amazing seasons of racing I’ve now taken up a new sport IFBB figure' (AKA body sculpting).

Well have a squizz at this ripper Croatian spunk, who goes by the name of Antonija Misura. She's a Professional Basketballer who represents Croatia in the sport, and if you had a gander at the 2012 Olympics you might of seen her bouncing around the court.

She was born on 19 May 1988 which means she shares her birth date (except for the year) with yours truly, so she must be a real bloody ripper sheilah then hay. Antonija was asked what sacrifices did she have to make to deserve a place in the national team? 'While friends were out, have fun, etc., I would be for that time training, traveling, going through preparations ... In the morning rise 1 hour before school and do the training, and after school again on an evening workout, etc. Now I train 2-3 time a day (the third is training at the gym), only few hours off a day, rest for a while, do what needs doing and its already time for evening training'! 

 This 25 year old has played Basketball now for 14 years and has a fair few years left, before she probably retires to doing what all good looking sorts in sports do.... Modeling! Where with the use of sponsors and endorsements she'll make a packet of moolah, shes already been named 'Miss Mediterranean' during one tournament.

And the Number No1 spot goes to aussie shark biscuit Sally Fitzgibbons, and what a tasty little bite this tomboy would be. This surfing's Real McCoy has been trying to win the Championship for the last few years, but unfortunately she keeps coming up second best. This Gerroa girl has already taken the junior world champion twice, and after moving into the Pro stuff has moved to ASP world No.2.

Shes so far won a fair few comps but most notably the 2012 Billabong Rio Pro, and has won the RIP CURL WOMENS PRO at the 'Bathurst 1000 of surfing' Bells Beach.... Twice in 2011 and 2012. Sal (her nickname) has been on the World tour now for 5 years and is still trying to break through to become the 'Tour Champion', but she has been second now for 3 years so I think it's only a matter of time.
This 22 year old has some beaut sponsors like Red Bull, FCS fins, Roxy and she surfs Firewire surfboards just to name a few, and she's also the roving Roxy Ambassador so she really keeps herself busy. Her favorite training beach is 'Seven mile beach', which is at her home turf (or should I say sand) coastal town of Gerroa in New South Wales.

Always a bundle of smiles, she’s never touched a drink, never tried a cigarette (shes a good egg) and her only speeding ticket Sal has every received was in her Mini... with her dad, Martin driving. Hence why she has become a Arrive Alive ambassador, and would come in handy as a 'designated driver' on any given night.
